About Us

To get the most from Reliant Colonial Stamp Auctions also read FAQs, HELP and SITE TIPS sections. Updated regularly.

Are you a collector?
  • Are you tired of scrolling through endless lists of items that have little chance of selling and are really just cluttering up the websites on which they are posted?
  • Tired of having to look at items that are obviously not what they claim to be?
  • Tired of searching through list after list of inferior quality material in the hope of finding something of interest?

Are you a dealer or seller?
  • Are you looking to make your stock available not only to a wide audience, but an audience whose interests match your specialism?
  • Are you looking to reduce your costs by saving on fees that could more profitably used to purchase new stock?
  • Would you like FREE promotion of your "brand"?

I have been all of the above, and having become increasingly frustrated by the deficiencies of a well known online auction site and it's inability to adequately serve both the more specialist or discerning collector and the specialised dealer I set about creating "Reliant Colonial Stamp Auctions"

Reliant Colonial Stamp Auctions is more than just an online auction site. I want members to have a greater ability to tailor the site to their own requirements than is available on other similar sites. To this end there are a number of features not offered on other sites. I want members to play an active role in helping to maintain standards throughout the site and to develop the site to their benefit. As the administrator I am keen to respond to any reasonable requests. e.g you may wish to sell an item but feel there is not a category that quite fits the bill. If possible I will create a sales category tailored to your requirements.

Reliant Stamp Auctions is owned and operated by an administrator who is a PTS member and aware of the requirements and standards expected by the more discerning collector and seller / dealer. The site will be "policed" to ensure such standards are maintained.

In addition to the facility for
  • buying and selling items using the traditional format of standard auction / dutch auction / bid / buy now / offer, there will be the option of having "first bidder" auctions and a "swap" option
  • a shop hosted on the site. This site will also introduce the facility for members to create
  • "Wanted Ads". Directly appealing to other members for that elusive item. I will also be producing a regular
  • Newsletter. This will also be a feature that members can utilise. I will consider publishing comments and short articles from members in the newsletters

The cost of membership and use of facilities

Once registered all members will be given "preferred seller" status for first year. This will allow use of all sites features FREE of charge. This status will be activated within 48 hours of registration. If not please contact me through "contact us" facility.

After first year of membership:-

  • Membership will remain FREE
  • All registered and approved members will be able to set up a basic listing to sell an item for a negligible flat rate fee*. There will be modest fee based on the final selling price, the "final value fee".
  • There will be fees (again modest) for use of special features*
  • There will be a fee for creating a "Wanted Ad"
* At time of original listing sellers can chose to have item automatically relisted should it fail to sell. This automatic relisting is FREE of further charge and can be set to relist up to 10 times.

At intervals the fee structure will be reviewed. Notice will be given of any proposed change to fee structure.

For Current Fees in detail (these become effective after 1 year of "preferred seller" status). See "fees" section
